Impressive, ripe dark plums and blueberries on offer here. The palate has a rich, smooth-honed and quite fleshy feel with plenty of rich fruit building out the finish. Very polished tannins. A blend of 70% merlot and 30% cabernet franc. Drink or hold.
The 2017 Clos Badon is deep garnet-purple in color and sports a fair bit of oak to begin. The nose opens with fresh black plums, chocolate-covered cherries and mulberries with touches of mocha and licorice. Medium to full-bodied, firm and chewy in the mouth (mainly from the oak tannins), it delivers a lot of expressive black fruits and a long, spicy finish.
Couleur sombre, intense et légèrement évoluée. Beau nez fin, au fruité mûr, frais et subtil. Dense à l’attaque, juteux en milieu de bouche et plutôt ample pour le millésime, certes un tantinet boisé, le vin évolue savoureux, dense, long. Il faudra l’attendre.
