The Sénéclauze family, with Ludovic David as director, are working extremely hard to refine and finesse the wines from this property and it is starting to show its full potential. This 2019 has tons of anthocyanes giving a rich purple colour, followed by liquorice, sage and baked blackberry aromatics on the nose that make the whole experience extremely welcoming. There's austerity as the tannins pull things inwards through the palate with a trace of astringency on the finish, just the right level to suggest a good long life ahead. Impressed with the density and the crushed menthol on the finish.

A polished, fruity red with blackberry, blackcurrant and walnut-husk character. It’s full-bodied with ripe tannins and a fresh finish. Lovely at the end.

Couleur sombre, intense et pourpre. Nez très aromatique, fin, fruité, pur et subtil. Délicat en entrée de bouche, très aromatique au milieu, avec un corps moelleux et pourtant élancé, le vin s'étire en finale sur des tannins fins, avec un joli retour du parfum. C'est très bon.

Aromas of rich black fruits, cherry preserve and pencil shavings introduce the 2019 Marquis de Terme, a medium to full-bodied, rich and fleshy wine with a broad attack that segues into an ample mid-palate framed by ripe but youthfully assertive tannins. This is a muscular, rather chunky Margaux that will reward a bit of bottle age and which, with time, may make my score seem conservative. This is an evolving estate, as fully 25% of its vineyards have been replanted since 2009. Cabernet on rich soils between Labégorce and Château Margaux represents the core of the blend.

Il joue la richesse et la grande maturité du fruit. Très musclé l'échantillon primeur laisse ' entrevoir une jolie matière, du fond, mais aussi une masse tannique compacte que l'élevage devra détendre.

This is a solid Margaux with blackberries, blackcurrants and undertones of fresh tobacco and a wet earth. It’s full and layered with beautiful energy and structure. Tight at the end, as it should be. Try after 2025.
