Citran est l'un des meilleurs crus bourgeois. Les vins proposés peuvent rivaliser avec bien des crus classés.
A very polished red with blackberries, chocolate, walnuts and dried tobacco. Medium-bodied with a juicy finish. Pretty finesse and polish.
This is an enjoyable Citran, lots of Haut-Médoc character with cedar and charcoal, a little short on the finish for such a big name but enjoyable sappy character overall. I have been finding this estate a little inconsistent in recent vintages.
The 2019 Citran is showing well in bottle, unwinding to reveal aromas of cassis, red plums and subtle hints of sweet soil. Medium-bodied, lively and understated, with powdery tannins and tangy acids, it concludes with a youthfully firm finish. While this won't be the most demonstrative 2019 Bordeaux out of the gates, it will reward bottle age to deliver a classic middleweight.
