This is really beautiful with blackcurrants, spice, black olives and blueberries. Full-bodied with chewy tannins. It’s bright and focused. Excellent second wine from Las Cases. One of the best.

The 2019 Le Petit Lion is excellent, offering up nots of dark berries, plums, pencil shavings and loamy soil, followed by a medium to full-bodied, deep and lively palate that’s nicely concentrated, concluding with a long, saline finish. It’s produced from vines within the clos of Léoville-Las Cases itself—mainly young-vine Cabernet Sauvignon and old-vine, less optimally exposed Merlot in a block that borders Latour.

Fruchtiges Bouquet, rote Johannisbeeren, Himbeeren, Kräuter, zart Toast. Gute Dichte, saftig, zart adstringierend, eleganter Säure bogen, rotbeerige Frucht, Himbeeren, Brombeeren, zart Schokolade im Finish, gute Länge.

So eine schöne Fruchtintensität, die von Frische und dem Duft von schwarzen Johannisbeeren geprägt ist. Am Gaumen glänzt der Wein durch seine Tannine. Diese sind im Vergleich zum schlanken Charakter etwas unverhältnismäßig, aber das Ganze gewinnt im Laufe der Minuten an Dichte. Ein kämpferischer, ernsthafter Kleiner Löwe, der dem Großen Löwen den Weg bereitet!

Blackberry, blackcurrant and wet-earth character with spice and sweet tobacco. Bark and cloves, too. It’s medium-bodied with fine-grained tannins and a long finish. Excellent second wine from Las Cases. Best with three to four years of bottle age, but try after 2024.

Couleur sombre et intense. Nez très aromatique, fin, subtil et profond. Nuances de framboises et de mûres. Bouche tout en distinction tannique, avec de l'éclat dans la saveur, un toucher raffiné. Le vin fond au palais, aérien, plus en parfum qu'en matière, sans pour autant en manquer. Bravo pour ce choix.
