Château Malartic Lagraviere fait partie des stars de l'appellation Pessac-Léognan.
This is ripe and supple, but has an elegant, medium body and a long, silky finish that make it very easy to enjoy right now. Seductive blueberry character. Drink or hold.
Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2016 La Réserve de Malartic features warm plums, baked blackberries and chargrill scents plus nuances of bay leaves, pencil lead and tobacco. Medium-bodied and packed with youthful black fruits, the palate features soft, rounded tannins and a lively finish.
Couleur pourpre. Nez aux nuances crémeuses rappelant la rive droite, sur un fond de bois de pin. Agréable et original. La bouche affiche une légèreté gracieuse et finement tramée, comparable à un Bourgogne de grand terroir. Du plaisir, de la classe tactile.
2016 was such a great vintage, meaning that this is a brilliant year to head to the second wine for value and quality. There's clear depth to the rich fruit structure, full of poise and balance. It feels younger than the 2017, more closed, with a touch of austerity but with excellent delivery of black fruits. There's so much to enjoy in this wine, and it's a clear sign of the confidence that the Bonnies now have with Malartic. 5% Cabernet Franc finishes the blend.
