What a beautiful young wine, showing so much finesse and tension, with ultra-fine tannins and subtle and long flavors and character. It’s medium-bodied with extremely silky tannins that grow on the palate to a seamless finish. Harmonious. Another fine Pomerol for the cellar. Drink after 2027.

Assurément le plus grand Clinet que je goûte. Couleur sombre, intense, belle. Nez très aromatique, fruité, mûr et subtil. L'agitation le révèle plus intense, plus crémeux, plus profond. Ample à l'attaque, minutieux au toucher et pourtant riche en milieu de bouche, avec un corps fondant et beaucoup de goût, le vin évolue sur une très belle enveloppe tannique où il ne cesse de glisser. Longue finale profonde, sèveuse et noble. C'est superbe.

The 2020 Clinet offers up aromas of minty cherries, blackberries and cassis mingled with hints of licorice, loamy soil and rose petals. Full-bodied, broad and rich, with a layered mid-palate underpinned by powdery tannins that assert themselves on the youthfully firm finish, it's impressively balanced for a wine at 15% alcohol, but it remains a rather burly, powerful Clinet.

Deep cherry damson red in colour, clear depth. Touches of kicking spice right from the start, I like the surprise of the battle between richness and bitterness. It feels like a heavy blanket of fruit which is burrowing down but then kicks off to let the air in alongside velvet stroking tannins, very Pomerol with coffee and chocolate. Feels confident and powerful, good stuff, if broad shouldered.

Bouquet mit Veilchenparfüm, (über)reife schwarze Kirsche und Lakritze. Danach dunkle Schokotrüffel, dominikanischer Tabak und zarte Mentholnote. Am vielschichtigen Gaumen mit seidiger Textur, körnigem Extrakt, tiefgründiger Terroirwürze, stützender Rasse und durchtrainiertem Körper. Im Finale schwarzbeerigen Konturen, dunkles Graphit und sandige Adstringenz, kann noch zulegen.

Sports spicy toast and warmed fruitcake out front, backed by a solid core of steeped cherry and blackberry notes to match. This is all wrapped up with singed vanilla and sweet tobacco on the finish, along with a tug of warm earth. Shows solid range, if a bit reliant on the toast. A strong effort for the vintage. Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Best from 2026 through 2036.
